gentleman-mummy asked: I think the one flaw in that 'science' comic is the dismissive attitude towards the Tarot. Tarot cards are less regarded as 'Fortune Telling' by people who use them, and more as a method of using shared understanding of symbolism and artistic representation to understand aspects of one's own personality. It stinks of the stereotypically cold, emotionless scientific viewpoint that dismisses art and creativity, typical of Newton and/or Dawkins - and exactly what the comic is trying to fight.

Then I guess we’d better hope that the “psychic” in the comic makes sure to provide that disclaimer to each and every one of her clients, and that no one unethical enough to bill themselves as a psychic or fortuneteller in the first place would ever consider insinuating otherwise.
