korybing:

My maternal grandmother, Nan Pollard, passed away today. She was an amazing artist on top of being an amazing human being, and she has inspired me for years and will continue to keep inspiring me for the rest of my life. She illustrated paper doll and other children’s books for decades, and I grew up with her books and original artwork all around me.

She was always a cheerful, upbeat woman who could tell terrible jokes and spoiled her grandchildren rotten. Her ability to see the positive qualities of any situation was awe-inspiring and I hope every day I can follow in her footsteps, even if only a little.

A cheesy tumblr post doesn’t even begin to do her memory justice, but I’m crying so let me be schmaltzy for a moment!

I’m so sorry, Kory. She sounds like she was an amazing woman.
